"A new census has found almost all members of the Squamish Nation believe that knowing and learning about Squamish culture was important.
Of those surveyed in the nation’s first census, 98 per cent said Sḵwx̱wú7mesh snichim, the Squamish language, is worth saving, with the majority ‘strongly agreeing’ that the language should be taught in schools and is vital to members’ identity and existence."
