This grammar project resource was supported by the First People’s Cultural Council and Department of Canadian Heritage. The grammar project focuses on the following:
  1. Early learners (target audience)
  2. Sentence frames
  3. Verbs (actions)
  4. Question frames
  5. A correct answer matching the question
The Scope of the work is to use Strong Nation levelled readers to provide a grammatical framework for use in teaching parts of grammar. Once comfortable with the frameworks, the strategies can transfer to other picture books used in the classroom. We are using a scaffolding method to help with classroom teaching.
