Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha: Mohawk Maiden

Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha: Mohawk Maiden

Library Item

Kateri's life is an inspiration to all. Her world, like ours, was a changing one, in which the institutions of family and society were under constant threat. Kateri's response of faith in God and in Jesus' message of love points the way for us.

She lived and died (at the young age of twenty-four) as a totally dedicated laywoman, sustained by prayer, loving kindness to others and adherence to moral values.

Now, as then, the world needs people who are ready and willing to accept the Gospel of Jesus Christ and give themselves in service to their fellow human beings. Now, as then, it cries out for people who are courageous enough to pursue the vision of faith which inspired those who have gone before us.
