Early Days in Lynn Valley

Early Days in Lynn Valley

Library Item

most of the people who live in Lynn Valley today or who have visited it on their way to Lynn Canyon Park know little or nothing about the early history. Fortunately for us, one man, Walter MacKay Draycott, has lived in Lynn Valley since the early 1900s and has always taken a keen interest in the people and happenings in this area since his arrival in 1911. He has preserved his knowledge and recollections of early Lynn Valley settlers and events through his carefully written diaries and the many pictures he has taken over the years. Through the publication of this book, "Recollections of a Pioneers Early Days in Lynn Valley", Mr. Draycott has made it possible for us to learn something about that period of Lynn Valley history stretching from his arrival to the early 1930s. It is through the interest, the recollections and the efforts of early settlers like him that much of the local history of areas like Lynn Valley is preserved for posterity.
