Four Host First Nations
Organization
The Four Host First Nations (FHFN) are comprised of the Lil̓wat7úl (Líl̓wat), xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and səl̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
In 2004, the Four Host First Nations worked together to create the Four Host First Nations Protocol to ensure that their respective traditions were acknowledged and respected in the planning, staging, and hosting of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.
Squamish Nation member Tewanee Joseph served as the CEO and Executive Director of the Four Host First Nations Society.
Working together with the Vancouver Olympic Committee (VANOC), the Four Host First Nations worked on integrating Indigenous culture into the opening and closing ceremonies of the Games.
